This is my very first completed attempt at drawing a dragon. Drew it to small so had to leave all the construction lines and such.

You should draw the construction lines very soft, so you won't have much problems to erase them afterwards.
When you're happy with you final sketch you can draw stronger lines for the final lineart.
Maybe that helps.
